Just a week to go until Byline Festival and I've been busy organising a panel discussion / Q&A for the National Union of Journalists (NUJ): Why the World Needs Good Journalists

Come and join a panel discussion/Q&A with the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) London Freelance Branch. We are the biggest branch in the union with over 4,000 members and between us have a wealth of interests and stories to tell! If you are new to freelance journalism or need a refresher come and learn more about the job, what’s involved and what the union can do for you. We’ll share tips and tricks on how to find work, diversify your skills, do’s and don’ts of journalism and a Q&A session – your questions answered!

The NUJ will also be running an info stall all weekend so please do come by for a chat, advice on the industry, freelancing, upcoming talks, Salons and training courses, and tips on social media. We look forward to welcoming some more new members!

Panel includes: Tim Gopsill, Secretary NUJ LFB & former editor of The Journalist, photographers Natasha HirstNick McGowan-LoweNicci Talbot, social media officer, journalist & copywriter, Pierre Alioze, photojournalist, Laura Laker, journalist & writer (cycling & transport), Federica Tedeschi, NUJ Training Officer & human rights journalist.

Great atmosphere last year so I'm really looking forward to this. I'll be camping so fingers crossed it stays fine. If you're coming along, please stop by and say hello. I'll be at the talk and on the NUJ stall all weekend so look forward to meeting some fellow bloggers!

Also, *PUSSY RIOT* are headlining (squeals) 💪
